Showcase 2008

Submission Guidelines

Deadline for Submissions:
5 p.m., February 5, 2008

Submit abstracts online using the “Submit Abstract” link in the upper left-hand navigation column. Submissions may be made beginning December 10, 2007, and ending at 5 p.m. on February 1, 2008.

Eligibility

Abstracts may be submitted by Washington State University faculty, staff, or students. Submissions from students must include the name of a faculty member as a sponsor. Individuals may submit no more than two abstracts as a primary author.
Projects may have been previously displayed (between March 24, 2007, and March 28, 2008) at a professional conference, but not at a previous WSU Academic Showcase event. The work submitted must be a project completed for or at Washington State University. Students should not submit work completed during internships affiliated with non-Washington State University organizations.

Abstract Content

An abstract must represent ongoing research or creative endeavors. An abstract should include:

  1. Title;
  2. List of authors (with the presenting author listed first);
  3. Department, college, or other identifying information for all authors; and
  4. E-mail address and phone number for the primary contact person.

Submitted abstracts will not be edited for content. Thus, typographic and grammatical errors that appear in the submission will still appear in the online published version. Abstracts will be formatted to fit publication requirements only.

Abstracts must demonstrate scientific, scholarly, or creative significance. Examples of scientific or scholarly research might include basic research, applied research, or the scholarship of teaching. Examples of creative significance might include music composition or pieces of art.
